ABOUT THE ROYAL FOUNDRY

The Royal Foundry are an Edmonton-based alternative pop/rock band led by the core songwriting duo and husband and wife team of Jared Salte and Bethany Schumacher.

The band first rose to prominence in 2015 when they won Alberta’s Peak Performance Project grand prize of $75,000 for their song Running Away, which became their first Top 30 radio hit in Canada, peaking at #21 on the Alternative Rock Radio. They have since had 2 more singles in the Top 30 – Hopefully, the first single released from WAKEUP WAKEUP reached #27, and Never Have Time, from Lost In Your Head, reached at #28. One other single from that same record – Dreamers – peaked at #32.

In 2016, the band nabbed three Edmonton Music Awards for Single of the Year, Group of the Year, and Music Video of the Year, as well as licensing the song Dreamers to Disney for their 2017 Wedding Release campaign. They also licensed their single Start This Fire to Purina Dog Chow for an international ad campaign, which led to The Royal Foundry being signed to a publishing deal with peerMusic. Their music has also been featured in numerous television shows including ABC’s “Rookie Blue” and MTV’s “Catfish”.

They’ve gone on to win three John Lennon Songwriting Competition Grand Prize Awards, and two more Edmonton Music Awards  – for Best Pop Song in 2018 and Best Indie Rock Song in 2019.
