The Cure plays Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival with Simon Gallup’s son Eden on bass

The Cure’s bassist Simon Gallup was unable to travel to Japan for the band’s set at the Fuji Rock Festival tonight due to a “serious personal situation,” but the show went on with a natural fill in: his son Eden Gallup, who’s also Simon’s bass tech and plays in the band Violet Vendetta. The Cure debuts never-played ‘Disintegration’ B-sides, outtakes at opening of Sydney run

The Cure last night opened its five-night run of Disintegration 30th anniversary concerts at the Sydney Opera House, performing not only the classic 1989 album in full for the first time since 2002 but also debuting seven B-sides and outtakes from those recording sessions.
